DANNA LEE TUBBERT HONORED AS OUTSTANDING PERFORMER

In honor of October’s National Disability Employment Awareness Month, The Arc Jefferson - St. Lawrence (www.thearcjslc.org), announced that Danna Lee Tubbert was awarded the distinction of “William B. Joslin Outstanding Performer,” from the New York State Industries for the Disabled, Inc. (NYSID.) 

Tubbert works on a full-time basis at JSLC Enterprises in Watertown, which is operated by The Arc Jefferson – St. Lawrence. She performs tasks related to a NYSID Preferred Source contract to create folders. Tubbert performs exceptionally well making several different types of folders and is always willing to learn new responsibilities.

Over several years, Tubbert has gained more knowledge of the work and she takes pride in her job. She has a positive attitude and a great relationship with her coworkers. Tubbert appreciates the fact that she earns a paycheck through the agency working on a NYSID contract because she enjoys shopping, going to restaurants, and visiting the salon.

“Danna Lee rarely misses a day of work and is a very enthusiastic employee who loves to take on new tasks,” said Lynn Pietroski, Chief Executive Officer of The Arc Jefferson – St. Lawrence. “She sets a goal for herself each day, which is typically to surpass the number of folders created on the previous day.”

NYSID is a not-for-profit organization with 47 years of experience meeting the purchasing needs of government agencies while advancing employment for New Yorkers with disabilities. NYSID empowers people with disabilities through approved Preferred Source job opportunities provided by their statewide membership.

This recognition comes in conjunction with October’s National Employment Disability Awareness Month (NDEAM), led by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy. NDEAM’s purpose is to educate the public about disability employment issues and celebrate the many and varied contributions of America’s workers with disabilities.
