The Arc Jefferson – St. Lawrence Foundation (, is holding a walk to promote acceptance of Autism Spectrum Disorders at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at SUNY Potsdam’s Maxcy Hall in Potsdam, N.Y. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. The event will be hosted by WWNY-TV’s Jeff Cole.

This year’s theme is “Lord of the Rings” and there will be a free costume contest and a flag contest open to everyone with a variety of great prizes available to win! The Autism Acceptance Walk is a non-competitive walk to promote education and support services offered by The Arc Jefferson - St. Lawrence for people on the Autism Spectrum.

There is no registration fee, but walkers who raise $50 or more will receive the limited-edition 2024 Autism Acceptance Walk t-shirt, while supplies last. Download the registration forms and get full details at

The first 300 registered participants will get a complimentary gift bag. The activities are being provided by students from the St. Lawrence-Lewis BOCES Education and Human Services program and include games, face painting, crafts, music, and more! The event will also include a visit from the mascot, Elroy the Elk.

The Arc Jefferson - St. Lawrence’s Bridges Program provides individualized services for people with developmental disabilities starting at three years old with a specialization in the Autism Spectrum. Students participate in a variety of skill development activities addressing social, daily living, and academic skills using principles of Applied Behavior Analysis.
