The Arc Jefferson - St. Lawrence Foundation (www.thearcjslc.org), invites the community to step forward in support of autism acceptance at the annual Autism Acceptance Walk, taking place Saturday, March 14th, at SUNY Canton’s Roos House (CARC Facility).
Centered around this year’s theme, “Flower Power - Kindness is Our Vibe,” the event celebrates inclusion while raising critical funds for programs that support individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities across the North Country.
Registration begins at 9:00 a.m., with the Walk stepping off at 10:00 a.m. The morning will feature music, family-friendly activities, a costume contest, and a vibrant display of community spirit as participants gather to promote understanding and belonging.
The event is free and open to the public. Participants who raise $50 or more will receive a commemorative event T-shirt, and the first 300 attendees will receive goody bags.
Returning this year to emcee the event is WWNY-TV 7News anchor, Jeff Cole.
Funds raised help The Arc Jefferson - St. Lawrence provide lifelong services that foster independence, build confidence, and create meaningful opportunities for the people they support.
“Events like the Autism Acceptance Walk demonstrate the power of community,” said Lynn Pietroski, Chief Executive Officer of The Arc Jefferson - St. Lawrence. “When we come together, we help create a more inclusive region where every person is valued and supported.”
The Arc Jefferson - St. Lawrence Foundation is grateful to this year’s presenting sponsor, Casella Waste Systems, for their leadership support.
