In honor of October’s National Disability Employment Awareness Month, The Arc Jefferson - St. Lawrence (www.thearcjslc.org), announced that Andrea Johnson of Ogdensburg was awarded the distinction of “William B. Joslin Outstanding Performer,” from the New York State Industries for the Disabled, Inc. (NYSID.)

The Arc Jefferson – St. Lawrence (www.thearcjslc.org), announced that they are now offering Vocational Health and Recovery Planned Services (HARP) to assist people with disabilities and provide an additional resource to find successful, community-based employment.

The Arc Jefferson – St. Lawrence Foundation (www.thearcjslc.org), held the 15th annual walk to promote awareness and acceptance of Autism Spectrum Disorders on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at the Village Park on Main Street in Canton, N.Y. There were over 300 people in attendance and thanks to community support and sponsorship, the fund raiser netted a profit of over $21,500.

The JRC Foundation, Inc. announced today that it received a $15,000 Community Impact Grant from New York Life in support of the Bridges program, which provides services and supports to children and youth with disabilities from age 3, through the various stages of youth, and into early adulthood. The program offers vital afterschool and weekend activities which help build social skills, grow independence, gain needed life skills, assist with schoolwork, and provide recreation. Bridges is a Program of The Arc Jefferson – St. Lawrence and offers three program sites throughout St. Lawrence County.

Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. The event will be hosted by WWNY-TV’s Garrett Domblewski.

The Board of Directors of The Arc Jefferson - St. Lawrence (www.thearcjslc.org) has announced that Howard Ganter, Chief Executive Officer, will retire from the agency on January 27, 2023 after 44 years of service. Lynn Pietroski, the organization's current Chief Operating Officer has been selected by the board to become The Arc Jefferson – St. Lawrence’s next Chief Executive Officer. The team will continue to work together over the coming months to ensure a smooth leadership transition that will encourage further growth in services for people with developmental disabilities.

The Arc Jefferson - St. Lawrence (www.thearcjslc.org) announced that Heather Tuttle, Habilitation Program Coordinator, is the recipient of The Arc New York Executive Directors’ Association’s (EDA) Future of Excellence Award for Program Services Excellence. This award was presented on June 14th, during the State-wide meeting.

The Arc Jefferson-St. Lawrence (www.thearcjslc.org), a not-for-profit organization supporting people with disabilities in Jefferson and St. Lawrence Counties, announced that they will be holding a Job Fair at 420 Gaffney Drive in Watertown on June 14th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A variety of positions are open including: Direct Support Professionals, Certified Nursing Assistants, Nurses, Teachers, Vocational Counselors, and more!
